Problem statement
Events on Maguire Avenue traditionally cater to families and older demographics, often overlooking the interests of the emerging younger generations.

To maintain Maguire Avenue's status as a pivotal hub in the city, it's crucial to develop an event that appeals across generational lines, including this younger, vibrant demographic.

Solution

Design branding and promotional materials for drinking carnival.

Design process

Research

  • I did a first-hand and secondary-hand study of the avenue to gain a physical understanding of the ambiance of the street as well as the history.

Brainstorm

  • With the help of all that context I began brainstorming ideas to explore an original visual that would attract all generations willing to go out on a hot summer day.

Iteration

  • The different ideas I generated steered me towards creating an ad campaign with mascots in a post-card setting. The postcard setting is there to be reminiscent for the older generations and the mascot are there to grab the attention of the younger one.

Final Designs

  • With my style decided, all was left to do was create adapted designs for the rest of the formats.
